Steve McKinney

Hi, and Welcome to my corner of the web.  Peruse for a while and you may learn a little about me and my hobbies, interests, concerns, achievements, education, philosophies on learning, thoughts about computers, and more.  You may even find a paper I wrote about gender inequities and other topics.  In fact, you can see all of my Graduate Work pages here including my Fraction Exploration site (an online JavaScript application I created).
I am a two-time graduate of Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington.  I received my BA in psychology in August of 1997, my initial teaching certificate with endorsements in elementary education K-8 and psychology 4-12 the following December, and entered the graduate program in January of 1998.  After taking a year off to teach 5th and 6th grades in Sacramento, California, I returned to Western as a full time student for the 1999-2000 school year.  While there, I was also a graduate assistant and taught two sections per quarter of IT 344 - Basic Instructional Technology Skills to pre-service teachers and other college students.  I graduated in August of 2000 with my Master of Education degree in School Administration - Instructional Technology!  Along with an MEd, this provided me with an endorsement in Instructional Technology 4-12.  I also taught a workshop in the summer of 2000 at Western called IT 445p - Web Page Publishing: Tricks and Treasures.  It was a lot of fun.
I have spent most of my time as a high school technology teacher. I have taught mathematics, Multimedia/Video Productions, and Web Site Publishing.  I was also the Yearbook teacher/advisor for two years, and I was in charge of the school TV Studio.
Like many other web sites, this one is (and may forever be) a work in progress.  I hope you enjoy your visit while you're here, and I invite you to come back and visit again soon.
